Let me set the scene for you – you are watching a movie with your sweetie and you see a guy in the woods with Night Vision Goggles who’s sneaking up on the one he wants to capture and the other guy does not even know he can see him and will be captured really soon.

Well, that can happen in this day and age but in some countries they do not like Night Vision Goggles at all. Actually, some countries do consider them as dangerous as owning a firearm. For example there was this lady that is from Singapore who just bought a pair of them for around $950 on the web. They arrived in one piece at her front door and customs did not open the package at all.

Technically, customs should have seized them and then determined if they were military grade or not. Since they were not, she would have been able to keep them. But since Singapore is very strict about such devices and several other countries as well then it is wise to just not buy them to keep yourself out of trouble.

The lady had decided to purchase night vision goggles as a gift for a relative of hers. He played with them for a few weeks and now told her to feel free to go ahead and sell them since he is now bored. So, she is now trying to sell them online which should not be very hard since they are quite popular around the world.

The type of Goggles she had obtained were very good but they were not military grade and did not have the proper night optics that are illegal to own by citizens in her country. When the package arrived it was of a factory sealed status and was not opened to be inspected or examined at all.

A lot of countries may consider owning Night Vision Goggles of grave importance to national security threat and that is why they are illegal to possess for non-military people. Granted, you are still allowed to possess them presuming you are able to get permission from your local authorities. You would just contact your local office and ask them who you need to talk to about owning them as a regular citizen.

Keep in mind that Night Vision Goggles would give the terrorists a slight advantage over some government agencies by being able to see them in the middle of the night and this may put there government offices and people working in them in jeopardy.
